    sariful.com/ : Franky Sahilatua Telah Meninggal Dunia. Kabar duka datang dari seniman kenamaan Indonesia Franky Sahilatua. Setelah berbulan-bulan melawan penyakit kanker, Franky kini telah tiada.

    Franky telah dirawat di Rumah Sakit Permata Hijau, Jakarta Barat sejak 16 April lalu. Kesehatan pelantun hits ‘Perahu Retak’ terus menurun.

    “Meninggal pukul 15.15 WIB karena kanker sumsum tulang belakang,” ujar Sukardi Rinakit kerabat Franky ketika dihubungi via ponselnya, Rabu (20/4/2011).

    Pria kelahiran Surabaya, 16 Agustus 1953 itu memang sudah lama menderita penyakit tersebut. Bahkan, pada 30 Juli tahun lalu Franky sempat kritis.

    Dalam masa kritis tersebut, Franky langsung diterbangkan ke Singapura untuk menjalani perawatan di Singapore General Hospital. Di sananya diketahui Franky menderita kanker sumsum tulang belakang. Franky menjalani perawatan di Singapura selama 7 bulan dan kembali ke Tanah Air pada Februari lalu.

    Nama Franky melejit di era 70-an, ketika berduet bersama adiknya, Jane Sahilatua. Mereka membawa nama duet Franky & Jane, yang berhasil menelurkan lima belas album di bawah Jackson Record. Selain itu beberapa lagu hits yang dihasilkan Franky di antaranya, ‘Lelaki dan Rembulan’, ‘Musim Bung’a dan ‘Kepada Angin dan Burung’.
