  • Step 'Sweeps' FullHouse Virus

    Another virus that threatens the computer user is FullHouse virus. The characteristics of this virus is making an extra drive with the name FullHouse Drive.

    The virus is made using Visual Basic programming language that in performing its action will create a separate drive on the Desktop, My computer and Control Panel that when opened will display images “Han Ji Eun” beautiful artist in the series Full House.

    To clean it, consider the following steps:

    Virus-scan files that are in the directory C: RECYCLER with antiviral agents are able to detect this virus very well. Vaksincom using Norman Security Suite.

    -After the scan is finished with a virus file delete the file status (defered) means the file will be deleted when windows restart

    -Clean button and then click Close at the time Norman Security Suite also will ask the computer to restart

    To normalize the re-registry that was created by a virus open Notepad then copy the script below:

    -Save with the name “repair.inf” select Save As Type to All Files

    -Run repair.inf with right click and select install

    -Delete files created by the virus with the following characteristics:

    * Type the file “application”
    * Extension “exe”
    * Size 168 kb

    -To facilitate the process of finding the virus files using “Search Windows”
    with the filter *. exe file that has 168 KB size and date modified
    dated 7/8/2008

    -Then delete “FullHouse Drive” on the Desktop, My Computer and Control
    Panel

    -Recovery folder on the Flash Disk that has been in Hidden

    -To show hidden folders back to the flash. Use
    command “attrib” at the command prompt.

    * Click “Start”
    * Click “Run”
    * Type “CMD”, then press “Enter”

    -Move the directory to the drive position Flash Disk, say E then type
    command E: and press “enter”

    -Then type attrib -s -h -r / s / d and then press
    “enter”

As a result users will feel the startup speed 3x faster than usual. In addition, the speed of browsing history will also be increased, and the performance of the cookies seem faster than before.

    This can happen because basically, Firefox uses the SQLite database to store many settings. With the growth of this database, the performance of the browser becomes slow. SpeedyFox as lack teraturan organize these databases, without losing the data in it.

  • Macam-Macam UPS – mana yang cocok untuk anda?

    Listrik tidak akan bisa lepas dari kehidupan kita sehari-hari. Apalagi bagi kita yang setiap hari berkutat dengan pekerjaan yang menggunakan piranti komputer. Keamanan dan keselamatan data dalam komputer sangat bergantung dengan keberadaan dan keberlangsungan listrik ini. Namun, hidup di negara yang unik seperti Indonesia ini, dimana kita tidak bisa menerima jaminan bahwa listrik akan 100% lancar alias tidak byar pet, dan 100% dialirkan dengan tegangan yang sesuai, maka keamanan dan keselamatan data semakin mengkhawatirkan. Tidak jarang saat kita bekerja menggunakan komputer tiba-tiba tegangan listrik naik atau turun secara drastis sehingga membuat komputer mengalami goncangan voltase atau bahkan mati dan kita belum sempat menyimpan data pekerjaan tersebut. Bayangkan saja bagaimana runyamnya jika pekerjaan itu harus segera selesai dan dalam volume yang besar namun setelah kita menyalakan komputer data sama sekali belum tersimpan dan berubah!! Hanya satu kata untuk menjelaskan situasi ini yaitu BENCANA!!

    Untuk mengatasi hal ini, mau tidak mau kita harus mencari alat yang mampu memberikan waktu beberapa menit kepada kita untuk menyimpan data pekerjaan saat listrik tiba-tiba mati. Akan lebih bagus lagi jika ada genset yang mem-backup listrik dari PLN jika pemadaman dilakukan lebih dari 1 jam. Mungkin hampir semua orang sudah tahu alat yang digunakan, yaitu UPS atau Uninteruptible Power Supply. Ada beberapa guyonan yang menyebut singkatan UPS sebagai Unit Penyimpan Setrum. Kalo dipikir-pikir singkatan ngasal ini memang benar juga, ha ha ha, wong fungsi utama UPS adalah menyimpan listrik alias setrum.

    Dari sekian banyak UPS yang beredar di pasaran, yang sering dikenal orang ada dua jenis UPS yaitu standby UPS dan online UPS. Ternyata, selain dua jenis tersebut masih banyak jenis-jenis UPS lainnya yang menawarkan berbagai keunggulan namun juga memiliki kekurangan.

    Saya sendiri sampai saat ini menggunakan merek APC untuk komputer-komputer yang saya rasa berisi data-data penting dan Prolink untuk komputer-komputer lainnya. Dari harga otomatis APC jauh lebih mahal dan bisa 2 kali lipat harga UPS lain dengan tipe sejenis.
